Meet Victoza® (Liraglutide) Injection
Victoza is a once daily liraglutide injection that helps control blood sugar and may support weight related goals as part of a supervised diabetes plan. Supplied as prefilled pens. Training on injection technique is essential before first use.
How it works
Inject under the skin once daily in abdomen, thigh, or upper arm as taught. Dose titration follows your clinician’s schedule. Rotate sites. Store unused pens refrigerated; in use pens follow the pack leaflet for room temperature windows. Never share pens or needles. Combine with meal planning and glucose monitoring advice from your care team.
Side effects
Nausea, reduced appetite, or mild stomach upset are common when starting and often improve. Seek urgent care for severe abdominal pain that may radiate to the back, signs of allergic reaction, or very low blood sugar if used with insulin or sulfonylureas. Not a substitute for insulin in type 1 diabetes. Discuss thyroid history and pancreatitis risk with your doctor.
