Panadol Extra pairs paracetamol with caffeine for headaches and other mild to moderate pain when simple paracetamol needs a boost. Familiar pharmacy analgesic. Respect maximum daily paracetamol across all products.
How it works
Adults: take as labelled, usually 1 to 2 caplets with water every few hours as needed, without exceeding the 24 hour maximum. Swallow whole. Leave gaps between doses as the pack states. Not for continuous long term use without advice. Caffeine late in the day may disturb sleep for sensitive people.
Side effects
Used correctly, side effects are uncommon. Overdose can cause serious liver harm even if you feel well at first. Do not combine with other paracetamol products. Seek urgent help after suspected overdose. Caution in heavy alcohol use or liver disease. Stop for rash or unexplained bruising and get advice.
