How to protect your eyes during screen time
Educational information from RarePlus pharmacists — not a diagnosis. Contact the pharmacy for personalised advice about medicines.

Screens are part of school, work, and family life. You do not need to ban them. You do need a few guardrails so eyes stay comfortable.
For the whole household
Use the 20-20-20 habit: every 20 minutes, look far away for 20 seconds. Raise device brightness to match the room, not blast it in the dark. Prefer larger text over squinting. Encourage outdoor play; distance viewing gives focusing muscles a break.
For kids especially
Set clear offline windows before bed. Keep tablets farther than reading distance when possible. If a child gets headaches or avoids homework after tablet time, book an exam rather than guessing.
If strain persists despite breaks, we can check for dryness, focusing issues, or a prescription update at Balija.
